The Asian Boat Championships were held in Pansang, Thailand. On the last day of the competition, Arvind Singh of India crossed the finish line in 7: 55.942 seconds to win the gold medal in the men’s singles sculls.
Meanwhile, Ashish Bukat and Sukjinder Singh won silver in the men’s lightweight double sculls category. The Indian team, which included Pittu Singh, Jagarkhan, Manjit Kumar and Sukmeet Singh, won the silver medal in the men’s four-man sculls category. India finished the series with 2 gold and 4 silver medals.
