/ The Iraqi Asian Cup top scorer, Ayman Hussein, revealed today, Wednesday, the secret of the dramatic “win” over Vietnam and topping the fourth group in the last moments of the match, while he talked about the secret of his celebration of the second goal of the match.
The Iraqi national team player, Ayman Hussein, said in a press interview followed by Agency, that after defeating Vietnam and topping the fourth group, “I thank everyone who supported me, and I thank the coach and the Iraqi fans, and congratulations to the Iraqi people for topping our group.”
Hussein added, “Today we started the match with Vietnam with 10 new players, which perhaps explains the difficulties we faced in this match,” noting that “the most important achievement is winning the Asian Cup and not achieving the title of top scorer in the tournament.”
Ayman Hussein continued, “The celebration with the player Ali Jassim came because he is the best goal maker in the tournament,” noting that “his celebration of the second goal of the match was the way former national team player Younis Mahmoud celebrated in the 2007 Asian Cup.”
For its part, the technical committee of the Asian Championship chose the Iraqi national team striker Ayman Hussein as the best player in the match between the Iraqi and Vietnam national teams in the third round match of the 2023 Asian Championship.
Ayman Hussein won the best player award in the Iraq-Vietnam match after scoring two goals against Vietnam.
Ayman Hussein topped the list of top scorers in the tournament so far, after scoring five goals so far, one against Indonesia, two goals against Japan, and the same against Vietnam.
Ayman Hussein also became the first Iraqi player to score in three consecutive matches in the tournament, in a precedent that was not done by the former player, “Assassin of Asia,” Younis Mahmoud.
The Iraqi team topped the fourth group with 9 points, followed by Japan with six points, then Indonesia in third with three points, and Vietnam in fourth place without obtaining any point.
