This legislative text had been wanted by Emmanuel Macron for several months. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal asked the Senate on Wednesday that a law on decentralization would be “presented” before the end of the year.
“I hope that a law constructed with the associations of elected officials will be presented before the end of 2024 to draw the conclusions of Eric Woerth’s mission,” affirmed the Prime Minister in his general policy declaration to the Upper room. Éric Woerth “will present his first conclusions by spring,” he said.
The Renaissance MP and former Budget Minister had been mandated by Emmanuel Macron for a six-month mission on decentralization in order to “simplify territorial organization and clarify skills”, the objective of which was to lead to a legislative text.
