Enrique Tarrio was the head of the Proud Boys, the group of Donald Trump loyalists who were among the first to raid Congress on Jan. 6, 2021. After his conviction in May for seditious conspiracy, Judge Timothy Kelly on Tuesday in Washington convicted him to 22 years in prison. the most severe sentence among the 500 sentences to prison or house arrest for the events of that day.
For the judge, he is the leader of the conspiracy. On Friday Dominic Pezzola, a member of the Proud Boys who was the first to storm Congress using a police shield, raised his fist after his 10-year sentence proclaiming: Trump has won. Tarrio instead accused the former president, who also invited him to the White House, of having pushed followers to fight against the stolen election, but something that was not proven in court.
