A hundred affected people from Asturias, Galicia and the Basque Country have organized to file a collective complaint for pyramid scheme against the Asturian financial group Herrero Brigantina. The company has already been reported in various courts in Spain and is being investigated by the Economic and Fiscal Crime Unit (Udef) of the National Police.

The complaint will be presented in the coming days by the Vallverdú law firm from Gijón. “We are facing one of the most important pyramid scams in recent years due to the volume of people affected, which could be around 5,000,” said Rubén Cueto, partner at Vallverdú. “Today it is surprising that these types of financial structures proliferate with the amount of required regulations that exist, which leads us to question the work of the different supervisors, such as the Bank of Spain or the General Directorate of Insurance and Investment Funds. Pensions,” said Cueto.

The case is pending investigation by court number 5 of the National Court. For his part, the president of the firm, the Asturian Juan González Herrero, is in Medellín (Colombia), according to a letter sent to the Court.
