# ATP Tour Serves Up Spotify Partnership in Bid to Reach Younger Fans
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour is partnering with Spotify in a global content collaboration aimed at boosting fan engagement and attracting a new generation of viewers, particularly Gen Z and Millennials. The move follows similar initiatives with TikTok and Overtime, signaling a broader strategy to expand the sport’s digital footprint.
The ATP recognizes a need to connect with a demographic that increasingly consumes content outside of conventional broadcast channels. “this is about growing our audience,and in particular,targeting casual men’s tennis fans,” a senior ATP official stated,”Those fans who already have an interest but might not be following the ATP or our players week in and week out,more kind of dipping in and out around the Grand Slams.” The partnership aims to draw these fans “further into the ATP funnel” through compelling content delivered on platforms they already frequent.
Spotify’s appeal lies in it’s cultural resonance. According to a company release, tennis’ “fashion and global reach to the individuality of its players” made the collaboration a natural fit. Music already plays a meaningful role in the tennis experience, from walk-on songs to impromptu dance breaks during changeovers, and players’ pre-match playlists.This partnership will see the ATP produce original content for Spotify, alongside curated playlists and track lists, extending the reach of these musical elements and granting the tour greater creative control.
