During his arrest, he was shot twice in the chest and once in the arm after a police officer from the PAF, in uniform and on duty, and another from the Ile-de-France network brigade (BRF), in civilian clothes and off service, who were on the scene at the time, opened fire.

A man who may have housed the main suspect was taken into custody and released without charge at this stage. Another man, seen talking to her shortly before the assault, was cleared.
