Kochi: The High Court has said that the case filed by actor Joju George against the violent nature of the strike by the Congress on the national highway cannot be quashed. The High Court observed that the offense of obstructing public transport would stand.

The cases of bodily injury and indecency were quashed. Joju had filed an affidavit stating that he had no objection to the cancellation of the case. Joju pointed out that even if the complaint is withdrawn, the charge against the public cannot be cancelled

On November 1, 2021, the blockade strike by the Congress workers resulted in violence near the Vyatila flyover. The police case is that Joju, who responded against the strike, was attacked and his car damaged. Eight Congress leaders, including former mayor Tony Chammani, approached the court demanding the cancellation of the case.
