Indeed, intra-African cooperation is crucial for the socio-economic, political, and cultural development of the continent and offers several essential advantages, underlined the delegation, citing economic development, regional integration, strengthening peace and security in Africa, resilience to crises, innovation and knowledge sharing and strengthening the continent’s voice on the international stage.

In terms of economic development, cooperation can stimulate intra-African trade by reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, harmonizing regulations and improving transport and communication infrastructure, she added, specifying that this facilitates access to markets and increases economic opportunities for African countries.

As for regional integration, it constitutes an important lever for accelerating economic development, reducing poverty and promoting inclusive growth, noted the delegation, noting that the role of Regional Economic Communities (RECs) remains vital and important. strategic importance.

In terms of strengthening peace and security on the continent, she reiterated full commitment to the cardinal principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, non-interference in their internal affairs and good neighborliness.

Referring to resilience in the face of crises, the Moroccan delegation noted that to respond to pandemics, climate change or food crises, cooperation allows African countries to share knowledge and strategies to collectively overcome these ever-increasing challenges. aggravate.

Regarding innovation and knowledge sharing, the delegation highlighted that collaboration between African nations encourages the sharing of knowledge, expertise and technologies, thus promoting innovation and the development of solutions adapted to the specific challenges of the continent .

On strengthening Africa’s voice on the international stage, she noted that African countries can together have a stronger voice in international forums and better defend their interests on issues such as trade, environment and development.

“We are all called upon to make greater efforts to advance intra-African cooperation, which remains the only way that will allow us, as Africans, to take charge of ourselves and realize the dream of Africa that we want and, in short, respond to the expectations and aspirations of our citizens,” affirmed the Moroccan delegation.
