Audi (part of the Volkswagen Group) has confirmed the shutdown of its IT systems in Russia. About it informs TASS with reference to a company representative.

“In accordance with the sanctions imposed by the EU, the Volkswagen Group has already disabled a large number of IT systems in Russia,” the source said.

An Audi spokesman explained that after the sale of the Russian business, all but five IT systems were separated, which will be available during a transitional period until the end of 2023.

On August 21, the Izvestia newspaper reported that Audi and BMW had cut off Russian dealers from their software. The source of the publication in one of the dealerships said that access to the software for Audi owners was limited two months ago. He pointed out problems with programming duplicate keys and the inability to install parts that require programming. According to the source, there is no alternative software for Audi yet.

BMW dealerships Borishof and Avtodom also faced restrictions. At the same time, Avtodom noted that backup channels are used to access online services.

Prior to this, Mercedes-Benz disconnected Russian dealers from its software. The distributor MB Rus reported that access was disabled, including to online systems that are used for maintenance and problem identification.
