by time news

The Australian cricket team will tour Sri Lanka in June and July to play three 20-over, five ODIs and two Tests.

The first Twenty20 cricket match between Sri Lanka and Australia will be played in Colombo on June 7, the second match will be played in Colombo on June 8 and the third and final ODI will be played in Kandy on June 11.

The first and second ODIs will be played in Kandy on June 14, 16 and the 3rd, 4th and 5th ODIs will be played in Colombo on June 19, 21 and 24 respectively. The first Test starts on June 29 in Kolkata and the second and final Test starts on July 8.

Will the Australian team tour and play as planned due to the ongoing economic crisis in Sri Lanka? That begs the question.

The Australian Cricket Board announced the Australian squad for the Sri Lanka series yesterday. Aaron Pinch continues as captain of the 20-over and ODI team.

Cummins continues as captain of the Test team. Interim batsman Marcus Harris has been dropped from the Test squad. Cummins, captain of the Test team in the 20-over series, has retired.

Hazlewood, Mid Cell Stark, David Warner, Steven Sumit, Matthew Wade and Maxwell, who did not feature in the short form series against Pakistan, are back in the squad. Spinner Adam Zamba’s wife has been ruled out of the series with her first child.
