Vaikom Mohammad Basheer’s famous short story ‘Neelavelicham’ is once again a movie. The film is directed by Ashiq Abu. The movie was announced by Aashiq Abu on the occasion of Basheer’s 113th birthday. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Rima Kallingal, Roshan Mathews and Shine Tom Chacko in the lead roles.
Now Aashiq Abu has shared another joy related to cinema through social media. Unexpectedly, MLA KK rushed to the shooting set. Aashiq Abu shared the joy of Shailaja’s arrival. Aashiq Abu said that they were shocked to see Shailaja teacher who came to see the shooting.

The film was announced by director Aashiq Abu on the occasion of the 133rd birth anniversary of Vaikom Mohammad Basheer. Goodnight Mohan had earlier acquired the rights to the film. Ashiq Abu has now acquired the rights from him. Bijipal and Rex Vijayan compose the music for the film. Gireesh Gangadharan is the cinematographer and Saiju Sreedharan is the editor.
