Austrian Anna Gasser remains untouchable in big air snowboarding

Double Olympic champion (2018 and 2022) in the discipline, the Austrian Anna Gasser added a second world title to her big air snowboarding record on Saturday on the Georgian slopes of Bakuriani, in the Lesser Caucasus. Anna Gasser landed her first two jumps credited with 87.75 and 74.75 points. With a total of 162.50 points, she beat the Japanese Muyabi Onitsuka (161.25 pts) and the Australian Tess Coady (153.25 pts).

The 31-year-old snowboarder had already won gold at the 2017 Worlds in big air and won the X-Games in the specialty in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Among men, the Japanese Taiga Hasegawa adorned himself with gold with his two best jumps at 90.00 and 87.25 points. He edged Norway’s Mons Roisland by 20 points (177.25 to 157.25) while bronze went to Switzerland’s Nicolas Huber (150.50).
