«AvtoVAZ” plans to transfer the production of Lada Largus to the site in Izhevsk due to the loading of lines in Tolyatti. About this with reference to the press service of the company writes Interfax.

It is specified that the transfer project can be completed in the second quarter of 2024. “The pause with the release of Largus is associated with plans to maximize the load of all three conveyor lines in Togliatti in the coming years. This is due to an increase in the production of the current model range and new cars – Lada Iskra, Lada Aura and a new crossover on the Vesta platform,” the company said.

In August of this year, 635 Largus models are planned to be produced at the site in Togliatti. At the same time, by the end of 2023, the Company intends to produce an experimental batch of Lada e-Largus electric vehicles in Izhevsk.

The company expects that during the break in the production of Largus, Russian suppliers will be able to master an additional range of components to achieve technological sovereignty according to this model.

During the Russia-Africa forum, the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov, said that AvtoVAZ expects to resume production of Lada cars at the Al Amal plant in Egypt in 2024. So far, we are talking about the production of only the Granta model, the top manager specified.

AvtoVAZ is considering the possibility of further development of the model range based on the Lada Vesta platform after the release of the crossover in 2025. According to a Vedomosti source close to AvtoVAZ, we are talking about developing a minivan based on the Vesta platform, which over time will be able to replace Lada Largus.
