Artak Beglaryan, adviser to the State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, presented several important observations regarding the restoration of gas supply from Armenia to Artsakh and the re-interruption.

“1. Yesterday (July 8), Azerbaijan restored the gas supply from Armenia to Artsakh, to the surprise of the Artsakh authorities and the “Artsakhgaz” company, and hours ago, they interrupted it again.

2. What are the reasons for this recovery, we can only guess because we do not have enough information. One thing is clear that there was no communication on that topic with the Artsakh side.

3. The main goal of this step was perhaps to reduce the external pressure at a specific moment to a certain extent, but I am sure that the Azerbaijani authorities pursued a number of other goals, for example, to cause constant uncertainties and various rumors and suspicions among the people of Artsakh by turning on and off unexpectedly at any time. in the region, in favor of which today’s interruption speaks. I also do not rule out the criminal intention that the sudden restoration of gas supply after a 109-day continuous interruption may cause additional incidents and loss of life.

4. Especially taking into account the goal of inducing feelings of uncertainty and helplessness, it is necessary to realize and always be psychologically prepared that Azerbaijan can unexpectedly restore and interrupt the gas supply at any moment. And under such conditions, we must refrain from creating additional internal informational-psychological turmoil, both in the case of recovery and interruption. Based on this consideration and taking into account the uncertainty of the situation, yesterday the authorized bodies did not rush to publish official information about the restoration.

5. Since June 15, no fuel has been supplied to Artsakh at all, among other essential goods, and serious problems have already arisen in connection with internal movement. Especially for that reason, the restoration of gas supply would somewhat alleviate people’s deprivations in terms of internal movement and organization of daily life, but the main problem remains the blockade itself.

6. In any case, the authorities of Azerbaijan must realize that they cannot take away our natural rights from us and break our spirit and will of freedom with gas, electricity, fuel, food and other household deprivations.

7. The complete siege of Artsakh, interruptions in electricity and gas supply are manifestations of crimes against humanity, which means that the international community should urgently and practically eliminate these violations and prevent the further deepening of the humanitarian disaster. And one of the mandatory forms of its implementation is the recognition and protection of our right to self-determination, because the humanitarian disaster is a mere consequence of the repression of the political rights and freedoms of our people,” Beglaryan wrote on Facebook.
