Babar Azam was the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year last year

Pakistan captain Babar Azam was last year’s ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. Assam won the 2022 Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. The player scored 2598 runs at an average of 54.12 last year. Assam scored eight centuries and 17 fifties in 44 matches. With this, the Pakistan captain has become the only player to cross the barrier of 2000 runs in a calendar year.

Assam has been selected as the best ODI cricketer of 2022 and ICC ODI XI captain. He was the best ODI cricketer and ODI team leader in 2021. Asam is currently the best ODI batsman with a rating of 887. In 2022, the player scored more than 50 runs in eight of the nine ODIs he played. The 28-year-old scored a total of 679 runs at an average of 84.87.
