Stocking up on notebooks and pens is a must for many families during the summer. But while the price of paper is soaring, is it the right time to buy them? This is the solution chosen by a mother who thus leaves time to compare prices. The promotions are multiplying at the moment. Waiting for the start of the school year to make purchases should be avoided according to the manager of a store, because the products currently on the shelves come from stocks purchased before the surge in raw materials so prices are stable, but this should not last.
Once stocks run out, prices will rise significantly. “For example, you have a notebook which, after the start of the school year a priori, will take between 10 and 20% inflation because the raw material has increased”explains Yann Lagrue, purchasing Manager at Bureau Vallée. From mid-September, the price of school supplies could increase by at least 20% according to an association of parents of students.
