The Amin Mohammad Group is not the owner of the Green Coziktage building located on Bailey Road in the capital. Amin Mohammad Group (as developer) completed the construction work only in joint venture. In this construction process, all relevant norms including building codes of Rajuk have been followed.

Amin Mohammad Group Public Relations Head Gazi Ahmed Ullah gave this information in a press statement on Saturday (March 2) night. In a statement, the Amin Mohammad family expressed their deep grief over the loss of life in the terrible Bailey Road fire.

The statement said, “You have already heard that there has been a case in the Bailey Road incident.” We always respect the law. The matter is under investigation. I hope to get my fair and just justice after investigation in accordance with the law.

The statement also said that when the construction work of the building was completed in 2015 i.e. 9 years ago, the ownership was also transferred. At present, Green Cozy Cottage Space Owners Association is doing the overall supervision along with the management of the building.

Earlier, the police filed a case against 4 people in this incident of fire. On Friday night, SI Shahidul Islam of Ramna police station filed the case on the charge of death due to negligence, said Assistant Commissioner of Ramna Zone of DMP Muhammad Salman Farsi. He said that 4 people were arrested in the court and remanded for two days for questioning.

In the case, the accused have been named – Anwarul Haque (29), owner of Chumuk, a fast food shop located in the building, Amin Mohammad Group, owner of Green Cozictage, Sohail Siraj (34), owner of Katchi Bhai restaurant and Munsi Hamimul Alam Bipul (40), manager of the building.

After that, the company issued a statement stating that ‘the building is not the owner or proprietor of the Amin Mohammad Group’.
