FAJAR.CO.ID, BANDUNG — Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, stated that he did not know for certain about the status of the suspect, Regional Secretary for Bandung City, Ema Sumarna, by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The West Java Provincial Government will respect the legal process regarding alleged corruption in the procurement of CCTV for the Bandung Smart City Program which ensnared Ema Sumarna and the former Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana.
Reporting from ANTARA, Bey stated that he only learned about this information from the media and would respect the legal process.
Regarding Ema Sumarna’s resignation letter as Bandung Regional Secretary, Bey stated that he had not received the file and asked to wait for official information regarding this matter.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had developed a corruption case for the Bandung Smart City project in the Bandung City Government.
Five new suspects have been named, including the Bandung City Regional Secretary, Ema Sumarna, as well as four members of the Bandung City DPRD: Riantono, Achmad Nugraha, Ferry Cahyadi, and Yudi Cahyadi.
The former Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, is also involved in this case.
“We want to confirm that it is true that the case is developing there, and already in the investigation process, several parties have been named as suspects, both from the executive, the Bandung city government, and from the legislative side of the DPRD,” he said when confirmed, Wednesday (13/ 3), quoted from ANTARA.
He added that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) would provide more detailed information regarding the case involving the five suspects in a press release. It is not yet known when the press release will be held. “As usual, we will definitely make an official announcement when the suspects are detained,” said Ali.
