Popular Baul artist Pagal Hasan died in a road accident. On Thursday (April 18) at 7:30 in the morning, a collision between a minibus and a CNG autorickshaw took place in Surma Bridge area of ​​Chatak-Gobindganj road. 35-year-old Pagal Hasan died on the spot.

The driver of the CNG autorickshaw Sattar Mia (53) died in the accident. He is the son of Ahad Ali of Shimultala village of Chatak upazila.

Three more passengers named Rukon Mia, Koesh Mia and Jahangir Alam were injured in the accident. They have been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Chatak Police Station OC Md. Shah Alam said, musician Pagal Hasan of Shimultala village of Kalaruka Union was coming to Chhat with some of his relatives at 7:30 am today. A bus carrying passengers from Gobindganj was going to Doarabazar.

At this time, a CNG bus and a bus collided near the toll plaza of Surma Setu. CNGT was crushed in the collision. Artist Pagal Hasan died on the spot. Abdus Sattar was declared dead when his other three companions were taken to Chatak Upazila Health Complex with serious injuries.

Pagal Hasan is the composer and singer of numerous popular songs including ‘Jeevan Khata’, ‘Asmane Jayo Na Re Bandhu’, ‘Ami Ek Papistha Banda’, ‘Railgarir Engine’. His death has cast a shadow of grief among his fans.
