It’s pretty amazing to think how many beautiful songs each and every one of us remembers. These are hundreds of songs, and if we don’t remember their words, at least not all the words, then certainly the melody, and most likely a line or two. That’s a lot of songs, and many of them are really beautiful, songs worth remembering, and even more worth listening to.
There are several important reasons that will encourage you to invest in yourself the minute or two it takes to play a nice playlist in your headphones:
- Songs create memories – have you noticed that songs bring back memories? So it’s because they also help create them. A memory is created when there is a special moment that involves as many senses as possible. The more senses are involved and awake, the more the memory is enacted in its fuller form, in the fuller experience, and so a soundtrack to life can really support this process, so that you have more pleasant memories.
- Songs relax us – true, there is music that does not relax us at all, and there is even music designed to do the exact opposite, but quiet and beautiful songs are relaxing songs, among other things. The biggest health problem these days is stress, which leads to phenomena such as high blood pressure (which leads to many diseases). Today, more than ever, it is worthwhile for us to maintain a low heart rate and deep peace. Music in the background, at least the right music in the background, can do this for us, and not just for long-term health, but simply to feel better in the moment.

There are many beautiful songs in Hebrew. There are thousands of songs involved, and even though there are always arguments between people as to whether the song is beautiful or not, there are definitely songs on which there is almost a consensus – and they are defined as beautiful. Many new Israeli songs stick to our ears, and enter the same repertoire of classics, a list that keeps growing, and over time also becomes a playlist that is accessible to you via the Internet.
One of the most enjoyable things, if you ask us, is entering the weekend with a list of pleasant songs to accompany our day, resting the weekend into the music, relaxing, breathing, and just being.
