Munich is Germany’s vain stronghold – in Cologne and Dortmund, on the other hand, people are a little more relaxed about beauty. This is the result of the (anonymous) evaluation of payment data by the company “SumUp” in beauty shops in the ten largest cities in the country.
According to this, every person in Munich spends 89.30 euros per purchase in a beauty shop (e.g. hairdressing and cosmetic salons, nail studios). top value! They are followed by Stuttgart (79.60 euros) and Frankfurt/Main (76.70 euros).

According to the study, Düsseldorf (EUR 76.60), Essen (EUR 75.30), Hamburg (EUR 69.80) and Berlin (EUR 68.20) end up in the midfield of beauty spending.
The residents of Leipzig (EUR 67.20), Cologne (EUR 65.20) and Dortmund (EUR 55.70) spend the least on their appearance.
By the way: the most popular day of the week for beauty treatments is – unsurprisingly – Friday. Accordingly, around 21.5 percent of all payments are made in the beauty shops shortly before the weekend.
