The Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gabir today (Sunday) directed Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai to order the police to remove any PLO flag that shows identification with a terrorist organization from the public space and to stop any incitement against the State of Israel.
Minister Ben Gabir delivered to the Office of the Commissioner of Police an order that every police officer of any rank, during the shift, will be allowed to remove PA flags. Ben Gabir delivered the order to the Commissioner based on the fact that flying the PLO flag is support for a terrorist organization.
The Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gabir, said: “It is impossible for lawbreakers to wave terrorist flags, incite and encourage terrorism, and therefore I have instructed to remove the flags of support for terrorism from the public space and to stop the incitement against the State of Israel. Identifying with a terrorist and harming IDF soldiers is not an excuse under freedom of expression”.
