German multinational Benteler, which specializes in providing services to customers in the automotive technology, energy and mechanical engineering sectors, is preparing to open a new factory in Kenitra.

However, as soon as this information came to light, it caused some concern for the factory community in Vigo, Spain, due to a likely reduction in production that could lead to job cuts.

At the moment this is a hypothesis, since the management has not communicated anything to the members of the Board of Directors of the company, but sources from this organization consulted by the Spanish media confirm that there are some concerns.”

With a total of 430 permanent employees, other sources emphasize that the reduction in the workload could lead to a significant drop in the number of staff,” state media in the country of Iberia say.

Next month, the management of Benteler will hold a meeting with the representatives of the factory workers, they will present the possible consequences to the multinational.

The same sources state that the new Benteler factory in Kénitra, where Stellatins (ex-PSA) is already located, will supply the assembly plant of this same brand in Vigo.
