Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Miah emphasized on increasing investment to build a developed and smart Bangladesh. He said that there is no alternative to expanding investment to build a developed and smart Bangladesh. BIDA is always committed to providing services to domestic and foreign investors including other information protection.

He said this in an event organized at Bidder Conference Hall on Wednesday (March 6).

On this day, the Bidder MoU was signed with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC). The MoU was signed by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Secretary Dr. Khandkar Azizul Islam and Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar.

Representatives of Bangladesh Computer Council, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited and Digital Security Agency were present on the occasion.

In the event, the Executive Chairman of Bidara said that in today’s technological world, information is power and information security is important. As a result of the implementation of this MoU between BIDA and BCC, all data including Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) will be transferred to BCC’s National Data Centre. Through which information related to investment services will be more secure.

In the speech of the President, BIDA Secretary Dr. Khandkar Azizul Islam gave brief information about the importance and context of signing the MoU and said that the OSS Act or ‘One Stop Service Act, 2018’ was passed in 2018 with the aim of providing all investment services to investors from the same platform for the purpose of building a better Bangladesh. In view of which BIDA OSS activities started in 2019. BIDA has signed MoUs with 48 institutions so far. Among them, 113 investment services are currently being provided by 38 institutions.

He said, so far Bida OSS information was stored on the Business Automation server. As the MoU is signed, all data of Bida OSS and IRMS along with hosting will be protected in the National Data Center.

In the event, Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar said, as a result of this agreement, NDC and BCC will work together in the storage and protection of BIDA OSS and IRMS data from now on.
