/ On Friday, US President Joe Biden warned Iran, which is threatening to carry out an attack on Israel, in response to the targeting of its consulate in Damascus at the beginning of this month.
Reuters quoted Biden as telling reporters: “We are committed to defending Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel, and Iran will not succeed.”
He indicated that he expects an Iranian attack “sooner rather than later” on Israel, adding that his message to Iran is “don’t do it.”
On Friday, the White House confirmed that Iran’s threats to Israel are “credible and real.”
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters: “We still consider Iran’s potential threat to be real and credible,” and the United States intends “to do everything possible to ensure that Israel is able to defend itself.”
American officials believe that a possible Iranian attack on Israel may occur within the “next few hours.”
