Bilateral travel arrangements; Serious consultation with Singapore, Indonesia

by time news

The Foreign Ministers of Singapore and Indonesia have held intensive consultations on bilateral travel arrangements.

It is expected that the VDL vaccination route between the two countries will be opened soon.

The two ministers discussed the new arrangement the day after Singapore announced that Indonesian travelers would be allowed without privacy restrictions from November 29.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Redno Marsudi spoke to Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan yesterday. At that time, the main topic of discussion was bilateral cooperation. In particular, the two sides agreed to continue discussions on ‘VDL’ travel arrangements, according to a statement from the Indonesian Foreign Ministry.

Singapore has allowed travelers from Indonesia to travel without isolation. The ministers also discussed how to implement this. Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan told Mr. Redno that the program has been expanded to Indonesia with some specific limitations.

The report notes that Minister Vivian emphasized the need for confidence in the regulatory framework, Indonesia’s Covid-19 environment, and the proportion of vaccine photoreceptors that are important for special travel arrangements.
