Now, the new National Library of El Salvador (BINAES) looks impressive there, the first in the world of its kind, which will provide attention to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a week. anus.

The work, which was inaugurated by President Nayib Bukele in the presence of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Zhan Yanhu, and presented to the president by the Vice Minister of Culture, Erick Doradea, shows on its first level a space that is an auditorium with capacity for 360 people; a Library Café, an Editorial El Salvador Sales Room and a VIP Room.

In this, which is the most modern and largest in Latin America in the 5G category, the population will be able to consult more than 350 thousand books, in 24 thousand square meters, with internet on the seven levels that comprise it.

The second level is impressive; It is dedicated to Early Childhood, described Alejandra Orozco, Education Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Gabriela de Bukele. Specially designed, this space awaits “the smallest users” of the population, even those who are zero years old, for whom there is a calm area, a breastfeeding room, a nursing room and where to park their strollers.

For this population segment alone, six thousand books have been made available, a transversal axis that is a play area, with which they begin their learning; as well as a story-telling area. There is also a technology area and even a robotics area. Everything will be attended to by a team of 26 Early Childhood specialists.

One floor higher, on the third, is the space for children and adolescents, who can enjoy literature, narrative, stories, poetry, dramaturgy and a computer area, all suitable for ages between eight and 12 years old. , with a variety of 26 thousand books and thematic areas, including The Little Prince, a work linked to El Salvador.

In this space there is a sensory area for children with special physical conditions, such as children with blindness, for example. It is an inclusive concept of books with Braille, to mention one benefit.

Level four is designed for Salvadoran youth, where thematic areas include the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (The Saga) and comics. There is also a technology zone equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. From this level there is a spectacular view of the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace.

The fifth level houses universal literature, the general collection and Latin American literature, with a classical room and a contemplative room.

Cultural activities are scheduled at any time of the day, including early morning, to call for a reading club, within the framework of the development of the national reading, writing and oral strategy.

At this level, an Italian food restaurant and an art gallery have been set up where the work “Innocence” by a very important Salvadoran artist, the painter Miguel Ángel Ramírez, will be exhibited.

The Public Project Manager, Raymond Villalta, presented at level six of the BINAES a space for the promotion of learning and intelligence. There are meeting areas and concentration booths, whether for students or businessmen.

It is also a virtual library area, where you can consult various topics due to the availability of more than 9 million digital books and magazines. A simulation room and games for learning are included; in addition to a first virtual reality experience, developed for medical students. In this space there is a robotic mascot that President Bukele called “Canelo 2.0.”

At the last level, the Secretary of Innovation, Daniel Méndez, presented to the president the first robotics room at the State level. Here there is high technology to make products in three dimensions, laser printing on metal, wood and acrylic. You can even print images on cookies or coffee.

After the tour, Ambassador Zhang Yanhu expressed his congratulations to President Bukele, for having made a dream of having a “cultural paradise” come true, thanks to the great leadership of the ruler, the Chinese diplomat acknowledged.
