New Delhi: BJP has released the second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. The list of 72 candidates in various states has been released. Prominent leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who was not included in the first phase list, has been included in the second list. He will contest from the sitting seat of Nagpur itself. Nitin Gadkari had won the Nagpur constituency in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Union Minister Prahlad Joshi will contest from Dharwad in Karnataka and Piyush Goyal from Mumbai North. Former Prime Minister Janata Dal leader HD Deve Gowda’s son-in-law CN Manjunath will contest on a BJP ticket in Bengaluru Rural. Meanwhile, the names of the candidates for the vacant seats in Kerala are not in the second list.

Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar, who resigned yesterday, will contest from Karnal. There were rumors that former Karnal MLA Manoharlal Khattar might contest the Lok Sabha elections. Notables like Sadananda Gowda, Ananthakumar Hegde, Nalin Kumar Kattil and Pratap Simha have no seats in Karnataka this time. Mysuru royal family member Yaduveer will be the candidate instead of Pratap Simha.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bomme in Haveri, Trivendra Singh Rawat in Hardwar, Anurag Singh Thakur in Hamirpur, Yeddyurappa’s son B.Y. Raghavendra will contest from Shimoga, Ashok Tanwar from Sirsa in Haryana, Shobha Karantalaje from Bengaluru North and Pankaja Munde from Beed. In Maharashtra, candidates have been announced only for sitting seats.

BJP released the first phase candidate list on March 2. The names of 195 candidates were in the first list. BJP has announced 267 candidates for Lok Sabha with the second list of candidates.
