Thiruvananthapuram: A bomber attacked the AKG Center in Thiruvananthapuram. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station. CCTV footage of the bombing was released.
The incident took place around 11:30 pm. CCTV footage showed a man on a scooter bombing the road leading to the mound near the center.
Senior CPM leaders rushed to the spot following the information. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of the entrance to the AKG Memorial Hall. LDF convener EP Jayarajan alleged that Congressmen were behind the attack. A police team reached the spot and started the investigation. Minister Antony Raju, PK Smt., AA Rahim MP and others have reached the spot.
CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that a peaceful protest will be organized in the wake of the bomb blast at the AKG Center. He said there had been a conscious effort in the state in the last few days to make the state a hotbed of riots and disturb the law and order situation and that the attack on the AKG Center was a continuation of that.
