Serb member of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said that he had reached an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin on maintaining the current gas price for the republic. An agreement was reached following the results of their meeting in Moscow, which took place the day before, on December 2. Now Russia supplies the Republic of Srpska with gas at $ 290 per 1,000 cubic meters. m.
Mr. Dodik, after talks with the Russian president, told reporters that he was “pleased with the conversation.” He said that he “agreed with Putin on the same gas price.” The leader of the Bosnian Serbs also said that Mr Putin supported the idea of building an extension of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline to the republic. He will discuss this initiative in more detail at today’s meeting with representatives of “Gazprom”, reports TASS.
Serbia also previously agreed on the price of Russian gas at the current year level ($ 270 per thousand cubic meters). For Republika Srpska, the price is slightly higher due to the greater distance, which increases the cost of transit. Milorad Dodik, before his meeting with the Russian president, also said that he was counting on Moscow’s support against the backdrop of increasing Western pressure.
