Elida Kocharyan and Sona Harutyunyan, members of the women’s boxing team of Armenia secured at least bronze medals at the European U22 Championship in Budva, Montenegro.
In the women’s 60 kg category, Elida Kocharyan fought Italy’s Ferrante Donatella in the quarterfinals and won 5:0, advancing to the semifinals and securing at least a bronze medal. Sona Harutyunyan of 63 kg weight won 5:0 in the quarter-finals and reached the semi-finals. She gained an advantage over Valeria Strizhak, representative of Belarus.
Ruslan Aslikyan (57 kg), Erik Israelyan (60 kg), Artur Shakhpazyan (63.5 kg), Ararat Harutyunyan (67 kg), Narek Zakharyan (71 kg) and Henrikh Chghrikyan (91 kg) won in the boys’ competition. :
