BSE Sensex Falls 0.36 Percent, Railway Multipacket Stock Soars 10 Percent – Latest Market Updates

Today, the BSE Sensex index fell 0.36 percent at 71,423.65 to settle at an intraday high of 72,026.26 and an intraday low of 71,312.71. But the BSE mid-cap index ended the trade up 0.46 percent and the BSE small-cap index 0.41 percent higher.Samayam Tamil

A multipacker Railway Multipacket stock locked in a 10 percent higher circuit and rose to Rs 320.75 from the previous close of Rs 291.60 per share in mixed trade today. This is a new 52-week high for this railway stock.

The President of India holds around 1,51,87,43,694 shares i.e. 72.84 per cent stake in this multipacker stock after adjusting the offer to sell (OFS) of 5.36 per cent in the open market to retail and non-retail investors.

So portfolio gains of President of India: 1,51,87,43,694 shares x Rs. 264.6 but profit = Rs. 401,85,95,81,432 profit, that too in a single year is surprising.

The most proud share is that of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). The company’s shares have an ROE of 21 percent and a ROCE of 18 percent. This stock gave multipacker returns of 330 percent in 1 year and 950 percent in 3 years. Investors should keep an eye on these railway stocks.

The company has delivered a good profit growth of 20.30 percent CAGR over the last 5 years and has maintained a healthy dividend payout of 33 percent. As on September 30, 2023, RVNL has a strong order book of over Rs. 70,000 crore, focusing on railway, metro and overseas projects.

Earlier, the company received Rs. 251,05,48,956 in L1 auction for the order.
