Authorities say 39 people are missing after a residential building collapsed in China’s Hunan province.
Beijing:
An apartment building in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, suddenly collapsed. 23 people were trapped in the rubble of the building. Rescue operations are being intensified. Rescue officials said 39 more people could not be reached.
Upon learning of the accident, Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered all efforts to rescue those trapped and injured in the building. It was reported that he had also ordered an inquiry into the cause of the building accident.
