“The Dravidian model is to make development possible for all,” Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said at a state function in Theni.

A ceremony was held at Unchampatti village near Theni Periyakulam Annanji bypass road to provide government welfare assistance. During the function, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the Rs. 259.82 crore completed projects, laid the foundation stone for new projects and provided welfare assistance to 10,000 beneficiaries.

District Collector K.V. Muralitharan presided. Tamil Nadu Cooperatives Minister Periyasamy and Revenue Minister KKSSR Ramachandran were in the forefront. Legislators and local council representatives attended.

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin participated in the function and laid the foundation stone for 102 new projects worth Rs. 74.21 crore under various departments in Theni district and Rs. The government has provided Rs 71.4 crore in welfare assistance to 10,427 beneficiaries, opening 40 projects completed at an estimated cost of Rs 21 crore. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said, “The corona epidemic could not reach many districts. Glad to be touring for the first time in Theni district. I am proud. Dam means Vaigai Dam. Meghamalai means hill and Aruvi means spiral waterfall in Theni district.

Minister I. Periyasamy, popularly known as Dindigul Periyasamy, has been appointed as the Minister in charge of Theni District and is now known as Theni, Dindigul Periyasamy as he has been doing his job well for the betterment of the welfare schemes of the Government.

The Andipatti Textile Park will be set up, a state-of-the-art modern rice mill will be set up in the Kambam area and a dam will be built on the Kotagudi river near Bodinayakkanur at a cost of Rs 3 crore. The Kumuli bus stand on the Kerala border will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
