The inspection was carried out while the bus was parked near the hotel where the team members were staying. According to police, the bus was rented from Tara Brothers in Chandigarh. It is learned that the same bus was hired for a wedding function.

Police have questioned the driver and owner of the bus. The Sri Lankan team is preparing for the Test matches against India after the Twenty20 series. The matches will be played in Mohali and Bengaluru. India swept the Twenty20 series.
