Rabbi Rahamim ztzel was born in 1331, in Baghdad, Iraq, by choice he studied at the Beit Zelicha yeshiva, where he was ordained and received a marksman’s certificate at the age of 16 from the genius Rabbi Eliyahu Kenosh ztzel who was the head of the butchers in Baghdad. There he also studied with Hakam Yosef Rabia Zetzal, who used to teach Gemara at a yeshiva.

In the year 1871, he immigrated to the Holy Land with his family, and here he married his wife, Mrs. Naomi A.H., who was the daughter of the humble Hasid, Hacham Yehezkel Betzon ZtZal, the cantor of the Ahel Rachel Synagogue, of the Babylonian sect, where he was later appointed the rabbi of the synagogue, And he studied in fellowship with some of the great sages of Babylon, students of the son Ish Chai, and most importantly, he served and even translated the questions for his great students, Chacham Nissim Kaduri ztzal, and he also studied with Hacham Salman Mozafi ztzal.

Every Mochash he studied with the great Kabbalist the hidden Jerusalemites, the author of the book ‘I came to my garden’, sage Sasson Mizrachi zt’al.

For about sixty years, he served as the rabbi of the ‘Ahel Rachel’ synagogue for the Babylonian sect where he served as rabbi and was devoted to the members of the community with all his might, giving lessons and talks.

He won and left behind him a blessed generation of righteous men and women, sons and daughters-in-law and descendants who continue the wonderful way he instilled. Rabbi Rahami ZtZal appointed his son Rabbi Yishai Ginati as rabbi of the synagogue after him.

His sons: the geniuses Rabbi Yishai, his eldest son continues in the leadership of the synagogue, Rabbi Ovadia Motz in Bnei Brak, Rabbi Yehezkel Ram in the Yeshiva. His sons-in-law: the geniuses Rabbi Yitzchak Bracha head of the Aterat Yitzchak Yeshiva, Rabbi Benyahu Dayan head including methods of teaching for rabbis, Rabbi Ezra Nahum head of the Orot HaPala Institute, Rabbi Aharon Nino Ram of the Rinat HaTorah yeshiva and Rabbi Shimon Lavi Dayan Beit Hadin in Tel Aviv.

A few years ago, his pious rabbi wife Martha Naomi A.H., who was a helper against him during all the years, passed away.

Today, as mentioned, he died of old age and return, with all his descendants around his bed, out of extreme clarity of mind.

His funeral took place this morning (Friday, Shabbat Eve, Holy Parsha Toldot) from the Ahel Rachel Synagogue at 36 David Yelin St., corner of Yosef ben Mattiyo in Jerusalem, at the Mount of Repose where he was buried.
