South Africa has asked the International Court of Justice to impose additional emergency measures against Israel over its military operations in Rafah. South Africa claims that the IDF’s actions in this locality will lead to “numerous casualties.”

The Times of Israel writes about this.

In January of this year, the ICC already issued a decision obliging Israel to refrain from any actions that could be qualified as genocide in accordance with the Genocide Convention. Moreover, Israel has an obligation to ensure that its armed forces do not commit acts of genocide against Palestinian Arabs.

South Africa believes the Rafah operation could result in civilian deaths and is pushing to increase pressure on Israel to stop fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Israel launched a “limited” operation in Rafah after it became clear that the Hamas terrorist group was not committed to signing a deal for the release of hostages and a temporary truce. Terrorists continue to insist on demands that are contrary to Israeli interests.

South Africa has repeatedly expressed support for Hamas, accusing Israel of “genocide” against Palestinian Arabs.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that the United States explained why it did not support the UN General Assembly resolution on the PA’s membership in the organization.
