In Crimea, in 2022, they plan to complete the construction of the Simferopol bypass road on the Dubki – Levadki section. The head of the republic’s road service, Valery Vasyakin, announced this at a meeting on the implementation of infrastructure projects.

“To date, the work on examination and diagnostics has been completed, complex data has been collected, necessary to complete the design work and obtain a preliminary conclusion by February 1, 2022. We plan to put the facility into operation by the end of next year, ”Vasyakin said.

Construction of the bypass road section began in February 2017. The contract value was RUB 6.14 billion. The facility was never put into operation, but in February 2019, traffic was opened on it.

According to IA “Kryminform”, the contractor (LLC “Sibavtoban”) and the customer of the work (the former head of the republic’s road service) were at the center of the scandal. As it turned out, the project was prepared on the basis of a deliberately inflated cost of materials. Last year, the ex-head of the road service was sentenced to three years in prison. In 2019, a criminal case was opened against the general director of Sibavtoban for partial non-payment of salaries, and in May 2020, the company was declared bankrupt.

On the very section of the road, landslides have already occurred more than once. It was planned to complete it in 2021 by the forces of another contractor, but the deadlines were again shifted.
