Bad news for Latin American cycling, which will lose two more representatives in the international peloton. Caja Rural, a UCI Pro team (second division), announced that it will not renew the two Colombian riders in its squad.

These are Jhojan García and Yesid Pira, who spent four and three seasons respectively in the Navarrese structure. “Today we say goodbye to two Colombian cyclists who have been part of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA during the last few years. Thanks to Jhojan García and Yesid Pira for their work and effort this time. We wish them both the best in the future,” they expressed from Caja.

It is worth saying that the riders in question did not shine at the level of expectations, and that in the case of García he hit his ceiling with the Spanish in 2021, going almost unnoticed the last two years. In Pira’s case, he had a good Volta a Portugal, where he finished 12th and was top 10 in a couple of stages.

At least, in favor of the athletes, we must highlight their youth, so their careers are far from over.

*Note: We want to denounce that an important Latin American multimedia, which also steals the material, becomes evident when it publishes news on the same day as us that was actually from previous days and we decided to delay. If the incident is repeated, we will hold a public protest.
