CAN 2024: Hakimi, Ounahi and Harit summoned… Morocco’s official list

15 days before the launch of the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast (January 13 – February 11), the announcements of the lists are starting to follow one another. This Thursday, Morocco revealed its own. Five players playing in French clubs were called up by the coach, Walid Regragui.

PSG, with Achraf Hakimi, Reims, with Yunis Abdelhamid and Amir Richardson, as well as OM with Amine Harit and Azzedine Ounahi will be represented during this CAN within the semi-finalist selection of the last World Cup in Qatar.

At the last meeting in November, these same five players were called up to face Eritrea and Tanzania. A performance that Sofiane Diop (Nice) was unable to reproduce, after having been selected for the first time with the Atlas Lions last month. Former French hope Amine Adli (Bayer Leverkusen) was also called up.

Called to gather on January 2, the summoned players will miss the resumption of the championship and will benefit from a 5 to 7 day training course in Morocco before starting the competition. The Moroccans will then meet Tanzania on 01/17, Congo on 01/21 and Zambia on 01/24 in the group stage.
