Actor Dileep, the eighth accused in the case of attacking the actress and filming defamatory scenes, is back in front of the police. Director P Balachandrakumar’s revelations that Dileep saw the scenes and influenced the witnesses have once again entangled Dileep. Various questionnaires were prepared to question all the five accused in the case, including Dileep, who allegedly conspired to endanger the investigating officers in the case. The interrogation will be supervised by Crime Branch Chief ADGP S Sreejith and Superintendent MP Mohanachandran.

The actress was abducted on the night of February 17, 2017 and filmed defamatory scenes. The statements and evidence given by the first accused Sunil Kumar (Pulsar Suni) to the police that this was done on Dileep’s instructions revealed Dileep’s role in the case. Dileep and his friend and director Nadirsha were interrogated for 13 hours on June 28, 2017. Dileep’s claim that he did not know Suni was refuted by the police. Dileep’s arrest was recorded on July 10. The day after the release of Dileep and Nadirsha, a secret message was received by the investigation team which paved the way for their arrest.

Dileep was released after spending 85 days in Aluva sub-jail. From the beginning of the case, Kerala paid attention to the line stories that won the film. This is the first case in the country where the actress was abducted and filmed on a defamatory basis. This is also the first case of citation for sexual offense. Police have found out that Dileep had given a citation to Suni in 2013 to settle his personal feud with the actress.

Dileep’s complaint to DGP Loknath Behrai alleges that the arrested Suni was blackmailing and trying to extort money. The statement of Suni’s fellow prisoner Jinson and Suni’s letter became evidence against Dileep. Suni had told Jinsan that Dileep had given the quotation and had promised Rs 1.5 crore for it.

It has been five years since the actress was attacked and Dileep is back in front of the police. The trial of the 14 accused is continuing.

Prosecution said it was an attempt to block the investigation

The prosecution told the high court that the accused were trying to obstruct the investigation in the case of assaulting the actress and trying to influence witnesses. The prosecution said this while considering the anticipatory bail application of Dileep and others in the case who conspired to endanger the officers investigating the case.

Digital evidence has been obtained for the conspiracy. The actress was expelled from the film. People were even sent to the media to comment in favor of the accused. The evidence obtained should be investigated. The conspiracy was to commit murder. Evidence cannot be disclosed at this stage. The prosecution also demanded that the accused be questioned in custody.

The evidence was presented in a sealed envelope. Defendant requested a copy but was not granted. The court said the accused should appear before the investigating officers and examine whether there is any further evidence.

Senior advocate B Raman Pillai, who appeared for Dileep, argued that it was a natural reaction for Dileep to say that he would suffer when he saw the pictures of AV George, the investigating officer. He said it could only be seen as a curse. But the prosecution said the reference was pointing to a conspiracy. The prosecution said there was more evidence of this.
