Oshima, or Our Cat Island, is an island in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. This place is known all over the world for being full of cats. But that’s not the fun part. However, with the passage of time, this became a fishing ground. With that, people started leaving the area. Many cats got sick here. However, the services of veterinarians to treat it were not available here. In February 2018, it was decided to sterilize all the cats on the island and control their population. About 219 cats were sterilized.
People donate food for these cats from different parts of the world. In 2019, there were 200 cats here. Humans? Just six people. But it’s a sad reality that once the people are completely gone, the cats won’t be able to survive and they’ll be gone too.
