CDA publishes a very critical report on the approach to the corona crisis

by time news

In early December 2022, it published Scientific Institute for the CDA the critical report Learning from Corona about the approach to the corona crisis in the Netherlands. The report is full of criticism of the corona policy pursued, which focused too much on the fight against the corona virus, with too little attention for society. That is also what former State Secretary Mona Keijzer, co-author of the report, made clear at the time.
So far, however, almost no publicity has been given to this report.

The publication of the Scientific Institute states that the corona crisis was a test for society and for democracy. It is also noted that little political and administrative evaluation has been done so far.

Keijzer criticized the curfew, the closure of schools and businesses, and the obligation to wear face masks. The government’s policy was too directive, politicians parroted each other and the resilience of society did not count, critics later admitted.

“You were immediately a wappie or a virus denier if you had any criticism of the policy,” says Mona Keijzer

In addition to Mona Keijzer, professors of probability theory Ronald Meesters, professor of Applied MR Physics Aart Nederveen and health economist, epidemiologist and biostatistician Eline van den Broek-Altenburg, among others, are no strangers to friends of the Doctors Collective.

Summarizing:

  • Society was seen as a collection of potential patients or infectors
  • The virologists were given an unassailable position
  • The medicalized view was model-based and not society-oriented
  • There was no regard for the fact that people are active, relational and united beings
  • The lifestyle was passively neglected and actively harmed
  • Candy stores and fast food chains remained open while gyms were forced to close
  • Stimuli to live a healthy life were absent
  • The political debate about the weighting between fundamental rights was hardly held
  • To date, little political and administrative reflection and evaluation has been done

Mona Keijzer’s right’

EW magazine reports under this title on 10 January about the scientific CDA report. “Politics in corona times was cuckoo song. In retrospect, the government’s policy was too directive, conclude critics in the CDA bundle. The resilience of society did not count.”

‘Hugo de Jonge does not want you to read this report’

Marianne Zwagermans also pays attention to this report. She writes in the column ‘Hugo de Jonge does not want you to read this report’.

“On December 8, this report was published by the Scientific Institute for the CDA. You know, Hugo de Jonge’s party. A DESTRUCTIVE report, which appeared in deafening silence. The CDA did not tweet about it, not even a retweet of the tweet from their scientific institute could get rid of it.”

The Doctors Collective wants politicians to account for the disastrous corona policy of the past three years. In a broader sense, a truth commission corona time should be instituted by the House of Representatives, which, as Jona Walk recently stated, can initiate a social healing process, which is necessary for a healthy, depolarized society.
