Dani Ceballos, midfielder for Real Madrid and the Spanish team, spoke about his pique with Gavi during the classic last Sunday. The two players have met again in the national team and, in statements to OKdiario, he explained how their reunion was at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas.
“There is no problem with Gavi. We are both very competitive playersWe give everything for our teams and these are things that happen on the field. Now we are all with the selection and give 100 per cent for the team”, he clarified.
However, Ceballos does not forget the clash they had in the center of the field and that neither the referee nor the VAR considered as aggression. The Madridista’s vision is different: “It was a quick play and it was red. I am one of those who thinks that the VAR cannot be constantly entering the game, but it was a play by red”.
Accept the disallowed goal
Ceballos also referred to Asensio’s disallowed goal for offside and offered a solution to these controversies. “I am a defender of VAR. The semi-automatic offside is already being integrated, but in my opinion there should be a margin of one or two centimeters on the line to determine if it is offside. In Barcelona, the referee said so, because it was offside.”
Ceballos and Gavi will most likely share midfield on Saturday against Norway in the premiere of Luis de la Fuente and the first qualifying match for the 2024 Euro Cup in Germany.
