jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the MPR who is also General Chair of the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo alias Bamsoet supports the University of Indonesia (UI) students who are members of the UI Racing Team to take part in the 2024 Czech Formula Student competition.
Formula Student Czech 2024 is a world-class student racing championship which will be participated by dozens of teams from various countries on 5-10 August at the international circuit Autodrom Most, Czech.
Bamsoet said the UI Racing Team is a student research team that designs, manufactures and races a formula car.
“UI students assemble their own Formula racing vehicles that will be used in the 2024 Czech Formula Student. Starting from design to manufacturing,” said Bamsoet in a written statement, Thursday (25/4).
A total of 22 people from the UI Racing Team will go to Czech.
The racing car made by the UI Racing Team, named UIRT-02, has specifications, including a Kawasaki ER6N 649 cc engine, Tubular chassis, lightweight fiber body, Ohlins shockbreaker and ECU using Haltech Elite 2500.
Bamsoet said that work on the racing car that will be used has been carried out since the end of 2023. Currently, work has reached 85 percent.
“It is hoped that in early May a test drive will be possible and on June 8 2024 there will be a grand launching of the UIRT-02 racing car,” said Bamsoet.
