This ceremony, held in the presence of the wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, governor of the province of Errachidia, Yahdih Bouchâab, was an opportunity to review the main achievements of the DGAPR in terms of management, structuring and improvement of conditions of detention and reintegration, in addition to strengthening security within penitentiary establishments.
On this occasion, the regional director of the DGAPR in Drâa-Tafilalet, Redouane Chtioui, underlined that “this celebration constitutes an annual tradition to pay tribute to the officials of the DGAPR, as a way of recognition and encouragement for their loyal services, while urging them to make greater efforts and sacrifices.”
Mr. Chtioui, also director of the local prison of Errachidia, noted that the DGAPR is seriously engaged in a process of developing and implementing plans and programs based on scientific and practical concepts. aiming to humanize prison space.
The General Delegation set about reforming the prison administration and reintegration sector and developing its performance, he continued, noting that this path was strengthened by the adoption of a vision integrated which includes all aspects and areas of management, and takes into account national legal provisions and international pacts.
In this regard, he recalled the various measures taken by the DGAPR to upgrade infrastructure and strengthen equipment in penal establishments, improve the level of hygiene and promote humane treatment of prisoners.
And to add that the DGAPR has always strived, since its creation, to promote the principles of openness, transparency and interaction with the various stakeholders concerned.
This ceremony, which was enhanced by the presence of the president of the Council of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, Hro Abrou, the president of the Regional Human Rights Commission in Drâa-Tafilalet, Fatima Aarach, judicial officials and of elected officials, was marked by the presentation of awards of excellence to officials of the DGAPR as a sign of recognition of their dedication and self-sacrifice in the exercise of their duties.
