The decision to impeach Dallagnol was taken unanimously by the Electoral Court and took place after the ministers understood that Dallagnol asked for his resignation from his post as Attorney General of the Republic in the Federal Public Ministry to escape possible punishments that could result in his ineligibility.
The deferred punishment is based on the Clean Record Law, which makes the now former federal deputy ineligible for the next eight years.
