Inter beat Arsenal, and the summer sets a record
Yann Sommer’s Inter Milan earned important points thanks to a 1-0 win against Arsenal. The former Nati defender was lucky not to be given a penalty after a hard tackle on Mikel Merino. Merino then caused a handball in his own penalty area shortly before half-time. Hakan Calhanoglu converted safely. Arsenal were better in the second half, but couldn’t equalise.
This means that Sommer is still without a goal after four CL games. In eleven first-class games for Inter, former goalkeeper Nati only had to score four times. His shutout rate is now 73 percent. This is the best value in Champions League history for a goalkeeper who has played ten or more times for a team.
