Due to low atmospheric circulation prevailing over South Andhra coastal areas, Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram and Thiruvannamalai districts are likely to experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning during the next 3 hours. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a chance of rain in Puducherry as well.
It rained heavily at many places in Chennai last night. Nungappakkam, Kodambakkam Thenampet Valluvarkottam, Thiagaraya Nagar, Marinasalai and other areas received heavy rain. Similarly, there were heavy rains in the suburbs of Ambattur, Badi Mannoorpet, Korattur, Mukabper, Aavadi, Kovil Patagai.
